In Algeria, starting in 1992, Samy played a pivotal role in reviving construction industry standards for energy consumption reduction. These partnerships aimed to raise awareness among the government, business community, and civil society on specific topics to improve corporate governance and the business climate in Algeria.
In 2019, Samy pivoted his career towards renewable energies with the US company Hecate Energy. He worked extensively on Algeria’s first Renewable Energy 1GW IPP tender, which commenced in December 2021.
His experience in business in Algeria and the United States allowed him to be the favored choice of USABC Board members to lead the organization towards more trade and investments between both nations.
